Its True man! July 4th 2008 - July 4th 2009 marks the 120th annivesary year for the Elms Hotel in Excelsior Springs Missouri. So where am I? and why am I wearing pajamas in this picture? Why AT the Elms of course!  In the room which was my home for two days! And wearing pajamas is one of the things you do there!

Oh and did I mention with WHOm it was my pleasure to spend those two days at the Elms? Well, none other than my lovely wife of course! AND.... if you have viewed her post, you already know WHY we were at the Elms, but did you know HOW this came to occur? Well thanks to our wonderful children, our  daughter-in-law (soon to be), my father-in law, and, Cameron's girlfriend, we were gifted with a weekend package at the Elms. It was so very thoughtful and nice of them. We were overwhelmed! It was the perfect thing! It was so Great!

As we were married at Excelsior on 4/14/84, we certainly wanted to meet with the brethren there on the Lord's Day. We attended the morning meeting at Excelsior, enjoyed a fine meal and fellowship at the Richard Mclung's, and then had the privilege of atending the Kansas City area singing hosted by Excelsior that Day. This photo was taken by my brother-in-law Glen Woody, who was also at the afternoon singing. The blessings of being with the saints at Excelsior just put our lovely weekend right over the top! How richly we are blessed!

Thanks Glen! It was great to see you too and glad you left the leather pants at home this time!

It truly was a wonderful time. I am a very rich man! My life is filled with wonderful people, and the list keeps growing! The most precious person to me of course is Kimber. I enjoyed every minute of having her beautiful presence ALL TO MYSELF for two terrific days. she is a gem of inestimable worth! My life is so blessed! My God is so good!

On Jan.3rd, we lost a good soldier.  We are happy that he can rest in his reward now.  We will miss him.

Faith is the Victory

  • I was in Osawatomie today where we started our plan for the year.  We will be having a home Bible study at the F & B Wendt residence, one Wednesday per month.  The first of these being this coming Wednesday.  Our subject material for these studies is to be: Evangelism Made Personal.  Today we began a series entitled: Faith is the Victory!
  • 1st Installment:  "Overcoming Sin"
  • The Problem of Sin  There is the guilt of sin (Romans 3:23 Legal guilt (I Jn.3:4), Emotional guilt (Jn.12:48)
  • The Power of Sin  feeling enslaved by sin so that a person cannot do what they really want to do. (Jn.8:31-34)
  • Jesus gives us power to overcome by forgiveness of sin(Acts 10:43) Jesus shed his blood for us (Eph.1:7)

eAs always I enjoy hearing your feedback!

Happy birthday to a heart tugging, ear puller.

On this monumental day, we must go over Josh Riggins' head to wish Jude Fletcher Wright a very happy birthday. I'm not pulling your leg, but Jude is pulling big brother Emery's ear!
